"The Power of Faith: Embracing Unity and Hope in La Trinidad"

The Municipality of La Trinidad, led by our very own Mayor of La Trinidad, Mr. Romeo K Salda, Vice Mayor Roderick C Awingan, and the Sangguninang Bayan Members of La Trinidad, observed National Bible Week.

The Cadets Philippine National Police Academy, the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station led by PLTCOL RODELIO D OLSIM, Chief Of Police, F/SINSP VICTOR T SAYAPEN JR, Fire Marshall-BFPCAR La Trinidad, and J/INSP NORMAN B PALANGYOS of BJMP La Trinidad also took part. On the other side, Church leaders are there, emphasizing the significance of the activity in the community.

Every year on the last Monday of January, the Philippines celebrates National Bible Day, and we are delighted to participate in this day of reflection and deep spiritual connection(1). It is observed on January 30 this year. We are sharing fascinating facts about National Bible Day in the Philippines — an annual event observed to honor the word of God by reading the "Bible," holding "Bible" quizzes, and distributing the "Bible." It is celebrated to instill in young and old Filipinos the practice of reading the "Bible," whose words empower them to live with hope in difficult times(2).

This is established to embrace the habit of reading the "Bible," the words which motivate people to live with hope even in difficult times. Furthermore, in the Philippines, the "Bible" is a Christian tradition that is established in the constitution and has received widespread support(3). According to the Constitution, "it is the policy of the state that the government shall aid and foster the development of the moral character and spiritual foundation of the Filipino people." As a result, the "Bible" is regarded as a national emblem of peace and spirituality in the Philippines.

Finally, with the active engagement of the PNP, we will be able to bridge the gap with citizens, local governments, and non-governmental organizations in order to function efficiently in preventing crimes and maintaining peace and order. In the face of all the challenges that our society faces today, the combined efforts of every institution and member of our society are a necessity to ensure that we reach the dreamed future of every Filipino.
