The Immaculates and the Ecclesiastical: A Conference in Baguio

"Kaisa ng ating Kapulisan ang Simbahan at Mamamayan sa pagsugpo ng krimen, droga, kriminalidad at terorismo tungo sa isang mapayapa at maunlad na pamayanan." (1)

A group of pastors from the Baguio-Benguet chapter made a courtesy call to PLTCOL RODELIO D OLSIM, COP LA TRINIDAD MPS to plan the programs, activities, and services that will be provided as part of the KASIMBAYANAN program's implementation. "KASIMBAYANAN" is a community mobilization program that emphasizes the PNP's synergized and collaborative partnership with the general public and the religious sector, to holistically transform the PNP organization and the community it serves (2).

Furthermore, the PNP anticipates and recognizes religion's humanitarian effect in improving the police organization's finest culture and traditions of law enforcement by instilling the purest moral principles in PNP members' hearts and minds. This resonates as cries of hope and an unyielding instrument of unity that binds the gallant men and women of the Philippine National Police and all sectors of the community to our dream of progress, as we address peace and security in our country with the utmost respect for human rights and the highest regard for the rule of law.

Through this program, we awaken and renew our commitment to God, country, and people as professional law enforcement officers to further develop police-community relations via genuine concern, compassion, and help. Which, such a program would enable the creation of a society molded by basic human decency and holistic cooperation. In such an act, the ensured prosperity and progress of the community are assured.

Finally, with the presence of the pastors and some representatives from the LGU, they were able to develop unified programs that will be held monthly, enjoining all religious sects led by these pastors, the LGU, Barangay officials, and other concerned community leaders to strengthen the partnership of the PNP, the church, and the community for a safer and peaceful community.
