"Strengthening The Ties Between Future Officers and The Sangguniang Bayan For Community Development"

Cadets from the Philippine National Police Academy currently assigned to the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station for the Cadet Attachment Program attended the Sangguniang Bayan members of La Trinidad's Weekly Regular Session, which is headed by the Chairperson, Hon. Vice Mayor Roderick C. Awingan. During the said conference, members of the Sangguniang Bayan encouraged the cadets to continue the legacy of becoming an ideal model of a great leader.

They also emphasized the importance of "INAYAN," an exceptional guiding principle from our predecessors that we can employ in our chosen professions as future public servants, especially to us from the Cordillera for exceptional service to the community (1).

Furthermore, members of the Sangguniang Bayan were able to offer some of their experience from decades of public service, allowing the cadets to absorb more knowledge. Most of them believe that we, as Cadets of the Philippine National Police Academy who will soon join the PNP, will help to strengthen the organization.

They are hopeful that we will be a part of the future transformation they wish to see. This was a test for us cadets, especially as Cordillerans who was trusted by our fellow Igorots. We will soon be traveling the path of our chosen field of service, which is why we, as Cordillerans, shall demonstrate our professionalism and commitment to performing our duties and responsibilities in serving and protecting the people.

These meetings with the Sangguniang Bayan allowed us to interact with the youth from additional Barangays in La Trinidad. We were able to deliver lectures to young people from organizations like KKDAT, SK, student clubs, and other group organizations that are driven by community development.
